I saw “Antony and Cleopatra” today and…yeah. It was AWESOME. I had worked myself into such a nervous, anticipatory state that I thought I was gonna throw up by the time the show actually started. I’m surprised I didn’t. ( lengthy entry ahead... )
You obviously had a great time and thanks for the detailed description (especially of the many Kate moments...) She looks gorgeous in the publicity pics I've seen and I probably would've died if I'd been sitting so close during the performance lol!
Thank you for the report and for sharing it so widely. Have been so eager to hear the details! This was a great way to start another week.
I know what you mean about that post-Kate sadness; it's rough! The best medicine for me has always been to just keep thinking about the experience and talking about it until I reacclimate to real life. ;-) And remember, there's likely to be another show in the future!
That's very interesting about the Romans being in more modern dress. I shall be pondering this. Everyone in Iphigenia 2.0 was in modern dress. Same director. But why the divide in Antony and Cleopatra? To reflect the divide between East and West? Maybe it was just to help the audience keep track of who was who? lol Interesting!
Oh my dear God I don't know what happened....ext_281783October 11 2010, 21:41:50 UTC
I was dutifully studying for my philosophy quiz when out of no where I'm at the bottom of your report laughing my own red head off... Haha fantastic!!! loved every moment of your report (I'm on the Kate Girls page) and am sooo jealous, but I'm getting over it!!!!! Now, back to philosophy!
