give it back to the birds and the bees and the viennese

Shamelessly stolen from oparu because I have the attention span of a goldfish at the moment while I work on thesis revisions.

1) Give me a fandom plus character/pairing, and FIVE one-word prompts
2) I'll see if I can write you five one-sentence ficlets based on them.

30 Rock, Jack/Liz, storm, wait, apple, quit, night

Liz didn’t think she’d like this sleepover business, but it’s storming and Jack’s open to cuddling and it’s not so weird after all.

-

Suddenly Jack is single and Liz is not and he can’t believe that she stopped waiting for him.

-

“I don’t care how many apples you bring me, Jack, there’s no way I’m role playing a teach-hold on, is that one covered in caramel AND chocolate?”

-

They’ve been at it for hours now and Liz is pretty sure that if Jack doesn’t stop, she’s not going to be able to sit comfortably for a week.

-

Nights have gotten harder since the divorce; though Jack will never admit it, he doesn’t sleep as well without her cold feet pressed against his calves.

Doubt, Aloysius/James: innocence, hurt, Godliness, carefree, discipline

(Good luck with your thesis revisions!)

(Thank you very much for the well wishes!)

Though Father Flynn is gone, so too is the innocence with which Sister James viewed the world; she sees demons in the shadows and no one, not even Sister Aloysius, can convince her that the world is inherently good.

-

When James takes Aloysius by the hand and threads their fingers together in a tight squeeze, the pangs of pain and misunderstanding are no longer as persistent.

-

Sister Aloysius should worry about the way Sister James looks at her with so much reverence that it is akin to Godliness, but she doesn’t; she craves the unapologetically awed gaze more than she has ever craved anything.

-

James nestles her head into the crook of Aloysius’s neck and this, she decides, is what it must feel like to be carefree.

-

Sister James believes that if she disciplines herself with fervent prayer that she can learn to fall out of love with her Sister Aloysius.

Thanks so much for writing these. The first and fifth were especially intriguing to me, but I enjoyed all of your interpretations!

Fandom: Bad Girls
Pairing: Yvonne Atkins
Prompts: Hope, Loss, Success, Judgement, Wine

Yvonne knows that losing hope is exactly what the screws want, but she has no intention of making their jobs--or their lives--that easy.

-

Losing Charlie is not nearly as difficult as realizing her daughter has lost her innocence.

-

Another terrified screw, another successful day at Larkhall.

-

"Who the hell are you to decide my fate, you smug son of a bitch?"

-

Karen Betts tastes like wine, and Yvonne Atkins is thirsty.

Ohh these are truly superb! I am in love with the last one especially but I think the third one is made of win. Yvonne Atkins has always owned Larkhall and always will

DWP Miranda/Andy: hush, retired, ladder, dawn, cartwheel

Reply

"If you don't stop moaning, I will stop."

-

Andy frowned at the abject misery that was evident all over Miranda's face; retirement did not suit her, and they both knew it.

-

Andy Sachs had no idea that, after struggling for so many years to climb the corporate ladder, she'd have such a long way to fall.

-

Miranda appreciates these quiet moments at dawn, when a sleeping Andrea is awash with the golden hues of daybreak that are strewn through the window.

-

When Miranda told me she loved me for the first time, I did a cartwheel...and sprained my wrist.

Oh, excellent! Thanks for writing them. I particularly like four and five...I could hear their voices clearly. I'm so glad you volunteered to do this!

Voyager, Janeway/Seven, Earth, fire, happiness, cider, fishing

It is not until Seven becomes romantically involved with Kathryn Janeway that she begins to look forward to seeing Earth; she believes she will enjoy seeing this planet through her captain's eyes.

-

Sitting in the holographic firelight of Da Vinci's studio, Janeway sees past the harsh Borg implants and cool exterior and notices for the first time how beautiful Seven of Nine truly is.

-

"I am uncertain as to whether or not I am experiencing happiness whenever I am around you, Captain, but I believe that I am."

-

As Seven drunkenly pitched onto Janeway's shoulder and nuzzled her nose into her neck, the Captain decided she didn't *really* mind that Paris spiked the cider after all.

-

Though Seven did not see a point in spending an afternoon attempting to capture aquatic creatures on a hooked string, she did appreciate being the captain's chosen companion for the activity.
