I really detest cutesy spellings like "sammiches" for sandwiches.

I also detest people writing in non Standard English in a public forum.

I just detest people who TyPe LyKe tHiS aNd RaTtLe oN aNd On aNd oN...a,

I detest that too.

I don't expect people to write supercorrectly with their who/whom, and making sure the sentence doesn't end in a preposition, etc, but I would like fairly standard grammar (meaning the sentence doesn't start out Me and Sandy were gonna do this), but proper punctuation. If people want to like LiKe ThIs AnD sAy Me GoNnA dO or whatever on their private journal, fine, it's their space to "express themselves" but I just don't think a community is the place to do that.

I just think people who do that just make themselves look like idiots.

I'm seriously tempted to drop a polite note to someone who does exactly that. "I noticed that you always write sammiches instead of sandwiches. I thought perhaps you aren't aware of your continuous misspelling of the word. LJ has also has this really neat feature that lets you check your spelling before posting. You should go check it out."
