I haven't dreaded a workout day outside of week 1 on
Insanity more than I did today.
Yesterday's Max Interval Circuit really kicked my butt. I spent all day today walking around like an old man. At least I wasn't limping around like I did on the first week. I'm going to consider that a good thing. It's all about the little victories, right?
First let's talk about the warm ups. The warms ups the last couple of days were like workouts all on their own. There are different twists to the warm ups from the first month, plus some added routines. Some of the routines were from the main workouts in the first month. Once I saw those on the warm ups, I could tell that the rest of the program was going to be something.
Today was Max Interval Plyo. The description on the DVD pack said that my legs will be begging for mercy. My legs actually felt worse on yesterday's Max Interval Circuit, but today was no picnic. There were a bunch of push-up routines and variations which really humbled me, like squat push ups, and power push ups, and one legged v-push ups, and level 3 drills with 16 push ups. Like I've mentioned in the past, I like doing push-ups, but these various different routines are just way too much, especially when you are gassed and sucking wind from the intense interval training of the past hour. I gotta say, intervals suck.
My only hope right now is that I start to move around less like an old man in the upcoming days. Tomorrow is Max Cardio Conditioning. I just hope this isn't the Max version of Pure Cardio, but my gut tells me that's just what it's going to be.
37 days down.
