Thanks, sweetie.

I know it's not just LJ, but on tumblr I don't post big sized graphics. And the worst thing that can happen with a tumblr graphic is that someone cuts/edits/reposts it, while wallpaper gets printed out on stuff and sold because of its convenient big size.

Not to mention that making a wallpaper takes a lot more time and effort, so it also hurts a lot more when I see it edited and reposted. :\

I'm not going to post big art on tumblr, no.

I'm very sorry to hear about your health. I hope your condition will continue to improve.

Re: the stolen artwork, I had not realised that LJ was worse than other sites. I'd assumed it was probably better than places like Tumblr, and am sad to hear that's not the case.

Thank you.

I think rua1412 is right and no place is really "better" in that sense. It's just easier for me to see small stuff like tumblr art stolen, rather than the large pieces I poured many hours of work into. Especially since I get more positive feebdack on tumblr than here, also.

You do? That's sad to hear. Mind you, feedback is down all over on LJ.

ETA: by saying it's sad to hear, I mean that you don't get f/b on LJ, not that you get it on Tumblr, obviously.

I know, I've been noticing it too.

Well, it's the tumblr kind of feedback - mostly "likes" and "reblogs", but they are still better than nothing.

1) I'm glad to hear that you're on the mend, I was hospitalized going on nearly 3 years ago and know that there's nothing worse than feeling hopelessly out of control and having to put all of your faith in other people to help you to heal.

Unfortunately when it comes to fanart, because we as artists are at the mercy of the studios, etc for "allowing" us to play w/ their pieces, there's not much we can do if our work is stolen. I've seen my own pieces used all over the place, including on merchandise that was created over seas and then sold on ebay. I even had an artist take one of my posters, draw it, and handed it in to become a chase card in some Star Wars trading cards. Exactly how him drawing one of my pieces that I worked hours on assembling is more "legitimate" art than my own piece is beyond me. [/end rant]

I hope your warnings all cause people to think twice about trying to alter your lovely wallpapers. Why anyone would do that is beyond me, your pieces are lovely as-is.

That's just appaling. I sympathize with you with my whole heart. :( My Buffy art was used by a British TV channel in on-air ads, among other things. So I have an idea of how it feels when you have done all the creative work and then someone else with "the rights" just comes and takes away the result, and you can do nothing. And Ebay merchandize is something I try not to even think about anymore. I'm really sorry this is happening to you too. :(

And thank you. *hugs*

I'm sorry that people still keep using your stuff. This is why we can't have nice things.
