The package has not arrived yet today, and apparently won't be. I am totally screwed. Chip is stuck in her travel cage and I am out $300. I am furious.

How absolutely infuriating! You should take the opportunity to review the business (at least locally) online so others won't make the same mistake. Just on a quick search, I found http://fedex.pissedconsumer.com/. Post the story! I'm sorry you had to go through this. Hopefully they will get off their rat asses and fix their shit to do what they were supposed to!
