Nice shorts!

Photo #6 reminds me of the landscapes on black Magic cards.

Yes, the dead wood is very reminiscent of a Magic Card.

I finished my first shirt this week. It's okay looking. I'll wearing it to school tomorrow.

You know, after just completing my first shirt, I have to say that shorts are easy compared to shirt collars and sleeves.

George, the pics are fantastic! I felt as if I were on a National Geographic tour! I really liked the reflections in the water...especially the mirror image of the picnic area. Hope you will be posting more pics in the future! Thanks to you, I feel as if I got the chance to see a little bit of a Virginia waterway!

G, great pics...nothing more relaxing than time spent out on a river. I've only been able to get out and float once this Summer, which is less than I'd hoped, but nothing is more relaxing. The pics you took reminded me of the Buffalo River in Arkansas, near Harrison.

Thank you. I do find it mentally soothing, even though I rationalised/justified buying this boat for the fantastic upperbody workout it gives me. Of course, the primary reason I keep going out is the scenery. There are a lot of nooks and crankies to explore in this creek/tidal marsh/swamp; lots of different wild plants and animals to see. And it's all just five minutes from my parents house.

I've been on float trips in the past--on some river down by Rolla, MO and some other river near the eastern Ozarks. EAsy and fun, but kind of boring. Even back then when I did these float trips, I felt constrained by the whole experience. There was little or no exploring. It was too linear for my liking, like one of those amusement park water rides.
