Beginning of the month was Friday Flock, with the always Excellent Screaming Banshee Aircrew providing the pre-club fun. A good gig with the band playing 'musical instruments' and swapping round every track or so. The small stage couldn't have really fitted a drummer and bassist on but they were sadly missed. A rawer sound came out and Ed always keeps the crowd going, but i hope they get some replacements soon and i liked the fuller sound. battyblingtrash was over and always manages to create a good atmosphere to a night out. I think i drank a tad much and bounced like a demon as even though i was in glow in the dark misfit converse, i got a blister !

The double whammy of the first weekend is that Slippery Belle is on the Saturday. Its still one of my fave burlesque nights because every time i go its an awesome night and somehow keeps getting better. Fantastic acts new and professional. Cherry Shakewells outfits were truly stunning. One being a stripy cherryised Mary Poppins type creation. Almost a shame to remove it =;-)

The second weekend i normaly go to the Coven, but due to circumstances i've missed it, shame as its great, but...then again so is the Ghoul Garden and with battyblingtrash tweaking my arm and a Garden Party at Gadges in Notts the sunday, it seemed silly to be anywhere else. On the way up i stopped off at my folks in Lincoln which was nice as we went to a fairly reasonable rib shack. The club was great and turned out to be some friends birthdays so i even got to play with bubble and sparklers. On the way to the club i walked past a lovely cemetery and spying some angels, i went back there Sunday morning. The weather was changeable but stayed dry the hour and a half i wandered round the place. It was awesome. Just me, my ipod and camera and a load of dead people. Kinda doubly cool as i'd been listening to Neil Gaimens Graveyard Book in the car, so my mind was awash with fun things. Got some great pics and hopefully harold_chasen may be able to make use of some of them. Later i dropped in on Gadge and Sian for a BBQ and garden party. A nice chilled affair with lots of people to talk to. Later there was a fire pit and fire breathing from one of the guest and dressing up !!

Last weekend saw a trip to Bedford and a couple of gigs that Liz recommended. Sister Ray and Sweet Sweet Lies who were both great. I'd have been tempted on a CD had there been any merchandise on display ! Afterwards there was Alt+Ctrl downstairs in esquires which was a zombie horror punk themed night. A great line of Djs with nephilimbabe, Martin Oldgoth and Rachel, however i didn't manage to get dancing until 3 tunes from the end. Good music, i just seemed to be talking or doing things when the tunes that would have got me started on the dance floor came on...odd, but sometimes it goes like that.

Saturday was Wendy House which always seems a blast, although quite often with different people each time. Not much dancing occurred, but much silliness happened and a late party at Borgias happened and saw me getting it at 7am in the morning. Almost a shame as i'd been upgraded to a nice double room, but hey. I got blearily kicked out at 11am and loaded my case into my car. Due to the new rocks being slightly too new and a bit of a walk i had some blisters so got the plasters out my case, shut the boot and went for my keys to open the car doors....i had a sense of doom as i shut the boot, but it was too late. My keys were inside and it auto locks. I spent the next 5hrs trying to get in. Calling round, finding a locksmith and him picking his way in. Its no easy job and it gives me confidence my car isn't going walkies, but i'm £70 down and a lost day. I made up for this by dropping into FOC and meeting Fuzzys folks who were lovely and we went out to Fuji Hiro for dinner then back to FOC and watched Gran Tourino which was great.

Tonight sees me atempting to give dancing ago with a class at Esquires in Bedford....I get quite a few nudges to dance at the retro discos after burlesque nights, but i more dance at people than with them, and i've always wanted to learn so here goes !!

This weekend is Waregem. I was going to drive but found Rob had a spare space. Less driving, more drinking. Seems like a WIN to me. We set off tomorrow night and stop off in Lille at Dorthee's folks for the night. Back Monday evening. Looks a great line up and there is the intrepidation of camping. Lets hope it goes well as i've just signed up for Mera Luna on ade50021's coach (get in quick if you want to come)
