As with any experience, people will change and grow into different directions and personalities when being with a new person. It is unfair of anyone to hold you back from that change.

I can understand friends missing the time they spent with you as you naturally give some to the new person. You are just so terrific everyone wants you. But I believe if they are really interrested in spending time with you, they should be willing to take you with Ryn, without, however you are willing to give them your time.
