Not to turn my LJ into a buy and sell forum or anything, but if anyone knows anyone selling a bike (motorcycle), I'm looking to buy ;)

Looking for a sport bike (aka crotch rocket) in the 600-750cc range. Holla at me!!!

I thought of what it would be like to have a 900-1000cc bike, but I'm sure I'd kill myself fairly easily. 600cc isn't THAT much, but still has some kick. Read my reply below for an update...

Have you priced out insurance yet... lucidcode April 24 2005, 22:00:23 UTC
I love bikes... well the image of a bike.

Now that I'm a father, and have obligations in life... the idea of stapping on a crotch rocket and potentially leaving a bloody headless corpse on the side of the road doesn't appeal to me as much as it used to.

Have you looked into the cost of insurance to ride your bike in the summer? I've heard it goes by the engine displacement/power. So you'd be better off with a 600c over a 750cc-900cc bike.

If I had no cares or concerns in the world, I'd buy a Hayabusa.

From what I've been told from asking around, it could be in the $1000-$1400 range, which seems to agree with what I paid the last time I had a bike (about 5 years ago). I insured it a month at a time and paid around $130-$140. It does go by the displacement, and that was a 500cc that I had.

That Suzuki's pretty crazy, I don't think I'd be able to handle a 1300.

I actually picked up a wicked bike though: Ooooooh yeah!. Just bought it this morning. Couldn't take it out for a test drive with the rain/snow and all, but it looks amazing. Even better than the photo. It's in fantastic condition, and sounds great.
