[Her kitchen is a mess.

But she cooks when she's stressed and she's certainly a bit stressed and the - the child is not, perhaps, precisely as neat as she would like, but that is all right. A little mess is no trouble, really. And the child - Liam, he says, short for William - Liam doesn't seems to enjoy messing up her kitchen well enough.]

Um. [ ( Read more... )

[Voice][Echo got a little girl who likes to talk and use the computer every time she turns her back for one second. The shouting. Oh the shouting.]

HI THERE LIAM! YOUR MOM IS PRETTY AND THE GHOSTBUSTERS ARE STUPID AND-

[Alas she has been caught quickly this time.[/Voice]

Sorrysorrysorry! Um, have you tried television?

[The computer started yelling. Clearly, the only sensible response is to yell back.]

THEY'RE NOT STUPID! [The little voice is very indignant.] MOMMA! MOMMA, TELL HER!

[The screaming quiets as he's pulled away from the console and informed that it is 'very impolite to yell at girls.' Then she lets out a sound somewhere between a sigh and a laugh.] It is perfectly all right. Not as of yet. We are making pancakes. And cookies.

It makes a bit of a mess. [There's still the occasional attempt for microphone-dominance in the background.] But it is not all that terrible.

Perhaps an apron would help. Or an over-sized shirt? To keep their clothing clean?

The best thing you can do is care for the child as you would care for yourself. Keep him fed, clothed, clean and entertained. They enjoy television and movies, but they need to be able to run and use up their energy. Perhaps take him to the park?

Oh! Oh, thank you. The advice is most appreciated.

That - that seems like a rather good idea, yes. I believe that I can handle that. Yes.

I would also suggest a trip to the library, where you can check out movies and books for free. Children love books. And avoid giving them sugar. Too much sugar and they get a little wound up. And children are full of energy as it is.

I do hope all this helps. If you ever need any help, feel free to ask. It has been a while since my son was this size, but it seems to be coming back to me fairly quickly.

That excludes the majority of my daily menu then.

I do not have any children of my own, so - Yes, though I do apologize for causing you any inconvenience.

I - am not precisely certain what you do with them. But Penelope had very good suggestions. I imagine that you would rather enjoy the park as well.

And then I imagine it is rather like playing?

But carefully? They are tiny things.

Because four weren't enough for me.

They'll vanish...eventually.

It is certainly more impressive than my list. Possibly because I did not have one prior to last night.

I imagine so.

If I cannot reach the ceiling, he certainly cannot.

Though he will be helping me. No matter how much he pouts about it.

Get Thanatos to do the job.

I would not wish to bother him. He is, very likely, already occupied.
