Saw my son today  when we went to buy new cell phones. Every time I get accustomed to an old phone ,new technology forces me to get a new one.RATS!!! 

Last week we were given yet another tree bee colony. Many of the bees died when the logger cut the tree apart but we were able to find and capture the Queen who was placed in a regulation bee hive box along with her remaining worker bees.Hopefully they will survive until spring when the Queenwill begin laying new eggs.

Sadly my darling Daddy died at 1;55pm yesterday from a massive heart attack.The Gods came and took him to be with my Mama in a far better place. The room monitor is quiet, no Hospice aids roam the halls and the house posesses an erie silence. An emptiness overwhelmes me that defies definition.

 My LTC and their families came over last night for a picnic. I made egg salad and rhubarb custard. They brought all sorts of delicious Turkish food and turkish tea. The language barrier is great but we manage to hold limited conversations;can't eat and talk simultaneously anyway.

My darling cats have always had the habit of bringing me "burnt offerings" to express their love and devotion to me. Very cute ,but, lately they have been excessive with this notion. Last week alone they  brought to my bedroom (through the open kitty and LTC window) a huge live green frog, a bullfrog, a live bird that proceeded to fly and poop on ( Read more... )

Denny and I are offically beekeepers now. We inherited all my brothers old diseased and abandoned hive parts and from that we managed to save one valid healthy hive. That hive grew so large under our deligent care that it made THREE Queen cells this spring so that we were able to split that hive into two more hives: the origional parent hive and ( Read more... )

 Today I had to accept the fact that I will not be able to go to Turkey with my LTC this summer because I have too many prior obligations.

 I put a ladder outside my open bedroom window so my cats would have access to visit me at their will. An unexpected surprise is that it also attracts my LTC.  What a joy to look up and see smiling little faces in my window. They also think it's cool that they are allowed to crawl through the window to visit me.I'm the cool cooky old lady next door ( Read more... )
