If books do turn out to be too expensive (or if its just a subject that you really don't care enough about to spend the money on the books,) check out the reserve table at your school's library. If it's like the library here at SCC, you can only check the books out for about 2 hours at a time, and if you actually need the pages it will still cost $0.10 a page to copy each one... But if you are talking about a book that would have cost $300, and it's 300 pages long, even if you had to copy every page, it would only cost you $30 (and you could spreed that out over time.) You just have to do the math to see if the cost difference is really worth the effort and make sure that your library has the book on reserve to make a smart decision

I also know that getting the books online, new or used, is much cheaper - sometimes half the price =)
