Many fathers, young and old, intending to be sympathetic but sometimes a bit too gleeful, had advised me, 'Your life's about to turn upside down' in the final weeks of Mo's pregnancy. Thank-you.
The time was 7.47 pm. We arrived at hospital at 7.40. Talk about cutting it fine.
This also meant that, with regard to pain relief, my incredible partner got through the whole thing with no more than 4 paracetamol over the course of the afternoon and the couple of gasps of gas n air which was all she had time for in hospital. She's some woman. Meant to mention that in my little acount.
