I went to The Empty Bowl young adult spiritual retreat at the Shoreline Unitarian Universalist church this weekend.

I went because I needed to regroup, because I needed downtime that was inspiring rather than stupefying, and because I wanted to make some friends, since I haven't been great about that so far.  It was wonderful, for the most part.  A ( Read more... )

1) While Rob and I did not attend the retreat, we did go to church this Sunday. We had a very positive experience, as well, and want to continue going here in Beaverton/Hillsboro. The church is very small and the building seems like it used to be an old, huge house. There is a big focus on covenant groups, which I'm really excited to become involved in, as well as a really fantastic choir I think I'm going to join.

2) I saw those rainboots too! I didn't buy them, but I'm considering it!

3) I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU, MISS KATE!

A lot of UU churches are so lackluster and devoid of...well, whatever it is that makes people want to go to church. I'm glad we have access to the churches that don't fall into that category ( ... )

awww i want rain boots with whales on them!!!!
but this is san diego. where would you ever find rain boots with whales on them...?
