And this is exactly why I usually ship complete UC couples that have no chance of actually happening because those ships are less likely to get pulled into shipper wars. The whole Rachel/Puck vs. Rachel/Finn vs. Quinn/Finn vs. Quinn/Puck is enough to drive anyone insane and turn people off of all of those characters/actors. Grrr Fandom enough with the fighting already. Whatever happens on the show happens. It's not the end of the world. To each their own.

You know it's not even like, the warring that's annoying as much as the fact that it's completely unnecessary.

It seems there are some shippers (from various ships, I may add, not just PR shippers) who love to claim that their ship is this persecuted ship, but then they go and antagonize the other ship fans. It's like: STAY THE FUCK OUT OF THEIR YARD, OK?

Don't go fucking antagonizing the FR fans and then come back talking about how mean and crazy the FR fans are, it doesn't work that way.

Again, I'm not calling out names or ships--I'm seeing this happen in PR, FR, RQ, all of them. A lot of people think their ship is a speshul snowflake and that's not the case.

I just wanna tell them, Sit down, stfu, and go write some fic cause in the words of Rachel Berry, "You obviously have a lot that you need to express."

Word. To your comments, and everyone else's.

As a recent convert to Glee, I have largely stayed clear of the non-fic parts of the fandom, because all the wank and fighting put me off completely. I just escaped from a fandom like that, and I figured Glee, what with the light-hearted singing and such, would be a much nice fandom. No dice.

I have personal experience with what happens when fan-warring gets out of hand - things get personal. I will admit I was not completely innocent, but I regret every post I made in anger, and have learned from my mistakes. I'll never post a public opinion again, especially with regards to things I don't have "specialised knowledge" of.

*B/A vs C/A flashbacks* Oh, dude! So so glad I'm not active in the fandom. I'll just be in my little condo singing my little heart out with the show and leave the fandom wars to the internetz thank you. Fandom ruined Supernatural for me, so I'm pretty much keeping miles of distance from it for this show. But I do feel for you since I know how lovely you are and not the war monger type. I hope it doesn't ruin your love of the show after only half a season! *hugs*

My first thought was "Oh, Dear Lord..." and my second was almost the same word for word as Debs (minus the condo).

Why do people become such idiots on the internet. Why?

Um, PREACH! TO THIS WHOLE POST. Like you said:

if it happens: GREAT. If it doesn't: That's what fandom is for, yo.

The thing is: I do see the things going on in fandom. Just because I'm not the one wanking doesn't mean that I'm not lurking and not seeing it happen "up close."

The problem isn't in Fan Forum, I never mentioned Fan Forum; and tbh I know a lot of the people who were involved in the wank over the weekend and they are nice people but some lines were definitely crossed. Comments like, "Go die in a fire" or calling them "Crazies" is never ok. And the SPN pictures of the "throat cut" gesture? Absolutely not ok. Joke or not, that's just seriously, seriously crossing a line.

I dont care who started it or who said what or who posted what--it was way, way out of line. Horribly so ( ... )

hey, Shannon...I TOTALLy get where u're coming from, but thing is...most PR shippers keep their cool...we don't go over glee club to bash shippers and actors like other fanbases do...ALL THE TIME! If we like to take a laugh at ourselves (hence the 'keeping in the family' title) it's only to show how we don't take this fandom drama seriously...that's all.

I honestly don't see how we are that bad...I can see we getting a bit extreme at times...but that happens in all fandoms.

dunno...hopefully things will get better and the whole fandom will cool down

You're absolutely right--MOST DO.

The problem is the handful that don't. Please understand me when I say, I'm not knocking the ship or the fanbase. There are a very select handful of people, and to be honest, I don't even know who all of them are, but there are a FEW people making us ALL look bad, and nobody is saying anything about it.

As for the keeping it in the family thing, I'll just say this--I enjoy a good laugh as much as the next person. Truly, my sense of humor is warped. But personally, that felt like a line had been crossed and I know I'm not the only one who felt that way.
