I had an appointment today at the outpatients department of the hospital.  First I had some x-rays taken.  Then I got to see my Ortho.

He thought the x-rays looked pretty good.  I told him that I'd been walking in the swimming pool, and trying to go in the basketball shoes instead of in the cast.  He thought the baller shoes were a good idea, and ( Read more... )

As you can see, there is definitely some progress being made.  The foot swelling is way down, thanks to wearing shoes that I can tie up tightly.  My ankle however, is still huge.

This isn't my picture.  But it should be.

This morning as we were sitting in LAX waiting for our plane, I had a moment of panic when I realized that I had left my camera in my duffel bag that I checked in.  I don't like to leave small, expensive, electronics in checked bags.  I prefer to carry them with me.  I was annoyed, but whatever.  No big deal ( Read more... )

The Morongo Valley Canyon.  Just outside of Joshua Tree National Park.  I wasn't able to go all the way to the park, but we did get close enough to see some of the high desert area where the trees grow.

I really wanted to see Rafael Nadal play.  But, all of his matches were during the daytime and I had a pretty busy schedule during the days.  Among other things, it involved working out my ankle in the swimming pool and getting some serious Vitamin D injections after those workouts.

The Pacific Life Open.  It's a fun tennis tournament to go to, and a great excuse to go to the Palm Springs area.  We decided to go last night because there were some good matches on the draw.
