It's a terrible hour. On the (somewhat spiteful) upside, due to the loudness of the bells, it's an ungodly hour I'll be inflicting on everyone around the church.

You're right, that ought to make up for a lot. I find myself thinking along those lines too, when I call patients in to the lab at 7.45 in the morning - "I have to be here when I'd rather be in bed, but you do too, and you're the one who might experience a bit of pain! Besides, I get paid to be here! Muaha!"
Still sucks a bit, of course, but it gets better. I expect the amount of noise alone will work wonders (for you, at least).
