W/in the past three weeks of college life, I smelled more cigarette smoke than my four years in Taiwan.

Where? Not in the dorms, right? We have, imo, quite a large number of people smoking here, but smokers here are generally well-behaved at least in my area. For one thing, because my dorm is new, the smoke detectors are very sensitive, so no one would smoke in the dorms...

You'll get used to it. I smelled less cigarette smoke in Toronto than I did in Switzerland...and Toronto is a huge city...=)

I agree with you. I've had so much secondhand smoke blown right into my face lately that I'm going to get lung cancer. Every fifth person I pass is holding a cigarette.
