i was treated to a performance of the KODO drummers of japan last evening by shybrilliance, and i'm pretty sure i'm still re-adjusting my jaw.

taiko on recorded media just doesn't have the same sternum-pounding effect as the drums, particularly the o-daiko (which weighs approximately 800 lbs), are specifically designed to be played without amplification ( Read more... )
