Where I have been.............

To anyone that noticed, I haven't been out in ages. This is mainly because I'm terminally skint. This month alone I had to pay £600 to a private dentist to help fix what 5 NHS dentists managed to mess up over the last 8 years! I've also re-joined the NHS pension scheme (which I left so I could get the money back to help pay for the deposit for the ( Read more... )

Hey, it's not so bad.

We currently have no flooring at all in the living room or bathroom (well, floorboards and hardboard in the living room, concrete in the bathroom)... Leaky sealant all round the bath so the floor floods when you shower... A cold water tank in the loft that overflows into the loft if it fills up too fast for any reason... Damp patches on the walls and ceiling when it rains... Plugholes that give off a smell of sulphur...

Still, at least we have a nice shiny new boiler now. You can tell, not just from the boiler, but from the missing kitchen tiles where they had to plumb it in and the massive bare-cement patch on the wall where they plugged the old flue-hole. So it's not all bad :-)

If it was me, I'd just chuck out the moldy tiles (or all of them actually), seal the leak with silicone (or No More Nails glue if it's being a pain, after all, you'll never have to worry about it again) and stick a machine-washable rug down or something. Problem solved ;-)

Sorry hon, I didn't know it was so bad for you! At least it's picnic season and that's a very cheap option. It sounds like it would be a great idea for you to get out of that f'ing flat and see some mates more often- the more you islolate, the worse everything looks. Let's make some plans?
