i've had one of the best birthdays of my 19 years.
and especially in the last three years. which is weird to say.

but

the e-mails, phone calls, cards, little surprises ... it's been amazing.
i feel so lucky to be loved.

and tonight i have a bottle of wine and a group of my favorite people in this city

The purpose is to share with my friends and family from "back home" my first semester of college and my experiences living in a new city. I have to update twice a week.

my only friends here went to portland for the weekend to promote their skateboarding stuff, so i'm all alone. it sucks.

my only other friends are over 2,000 miles away. and that sucks, too.
i miss you guys a ton.

i'm glad i'm not cold hearted and mean.

my mother gave me something called a soul.
and then she taught me how to use it before she left.

the act of caring for another human being is an innate feeling i thought everyone was capable of.
how naive i was. stupid.

i need something to look forward to or else i don't see the purpose of waking up.

And what will my happiness be like? What kind of happy woman will I grown into? What base things will I have to do, day after day, in order to snatch my own little scrap of happiness? Tell me-who will I have to lie to? Smile at? Sell myself to? Who will I have to avert my eyes from, and leave to die?
