video | open to action...sort ofIn the middle of a bright summer sunshiny spot in Xanadu, surrounded by flowers and a ring of trees is a statue made of ivory cream stone. The figure is a long haired man resting on his knees. If anyone looks closely they might see evidence of an entry wound and an exit wound carved onto his torso. Still, he hears ( Read more... )

Eden took a few days to find him; mostly because she wasn't sure if he would stay, and because even though she's better after the attack almost two weeks prior, she still moves a little slowly and gets winded easily. But she finds him, and stares at him for a long time.

This is a sidhe prince, in her estimation, and she's doing something ridiculously wrong. People get cursed and killed for this sort of thing. People get vengeance placed on their families, their descendants, and the land they farm for this kind of mischief. She's pretty sure that it's a bad idea, so she takes care to stay out of the statue's line of sight.

No need to take any risks.

She takes the crown of the Golden Army. She's not royalty, her family never has been, and she has no intention of using it. Instead she wants to make sure that if he comes back, that the crown is somewhere he can't find it. Her blood can hide anything, from guns and grenades to magic crowns.

Curse you. Curse you, Eden Mac Cionaoith.

Not that he can do anything about it, really...that is...

For now.

[Hanna can't do much while he's in the hospital, but he grins at the sight of the Nuada statue. He knows what it means.]

Ha ha. Had it coming for hurting Rico and those other people.

[How is this fair?! Hanna's in the hospital and Nuada's getting smacked by some of the debris from a lawn mower. Sigh.]

[First chance he gets, Hanna is going down there to laugh at the statue in person.]

[Gee. The things people put on the Network these days.

Gotta be the ugliest birdbath he's ever seen, hands down.]

[He's just. Waiting for something to happen. Aaaaaaany minute now, something's gonna happen.

Or maybe not.

Okay, this is the worst movie ever. Is this what passes for TV around here? Pft.]

[Unlike everyone else, Huey isn't trying to desecrate the statue of Nuada via graffitti or theivery. The boy just stands in front of the statue with his arms crossed with a trademark sullen expression on his face.]

...was it all worth it in the end? I told you, your resentment would lead to pain and ruin for everyone involved.

[Being a statue there's no response for Huey, and in a way this works to Nuada's advantage. He won't have to concede defeat in their war of principles, at least not for now.

However, if Huey is attentive, something is chittering behind the statue, nestled in the grass between stone ankles.]

[And attentive he his. Just as he's about to leave for the dates he'd been sold into, Huey turns around as he hears the noise. Curiously he leans forward and begins to move his hands through the vegetation.]

[Chitter chitter chitter. The multi-legged little blue-green creature skitters as fast as it can over Huey's hand to hid behind Nuada's stone leg. It peeks out though, because this fairy doesn't know better.]

[Enemy or not, seeing Nuada trapped this way strikes a poignant chord with Rosella. Certainly, he was behind the attack on the City--his declaration of war was proof enough for that. And so, perhaps, this is his punishment. But seeing him turned to stone also brings memories rushing back; she remembers a time when the City was plagued with a string of attacks that caused people to be turned to stone. She remembers walking outside one morning and finding Sam that way ( ... )

[If there is one who reminds Nuada of another perspective, that the greenest fields cannot grow from blood, that from the very start it does no one any good to do unto others as the enemy has done unto them, that mercy is equally as strong as execution...if there is one who reminds Nuada of the way she would speak and how she wished things could be, for their people, for themselves, it is Rosella of Daventry. He may not know she is there, the flower may not even be present when he wakes--if he wakes, but it is that brief familiarity with her, with someone she would have liked, that pulls him both to begrudging delight and infuriating despair.]
