At least I'm not the only one who thinks the mail delivery in Somerville is awfulFun story: when we first moved in here, five years ago, our mail carrier wrote us a note telling us to put our names on the mailbox. So we did, and the next day, it was stuffed with a bunch of mail for the former tenants (whose names WEREN'T on the mailbox). I wonder ( Read more... )

Yeah, we filed a change of adress multiple times, and STILL had stuff getting delivered to Waterhouse many months later...

Oh yeah, plus disappearing health care/debit cards, and who knows what we never found out that we didn't get.

Shit, you never got that box of drugs and human organs crudely packed in ticker tape? I always wondered why you never said anything

Dude, the post office everywhere sucks cause there's no security and they can't be fired. That = lazy fucks and thieves.

Somerville seems way worse than anywhere else I've lived, though. I get other people's mail all the time, I can't imagine who gets my mail.

I think Medford is slightly better. Once I sent a letter from Somerville to Brighton and it took THREE WEEKS to get there. Shit, I could've walked it over. And when I called to complain, the number was really hard to find and when I eventually got it, the guy I needed to talk to was only there between the hours of 7am and 8am. Seriously?

My favorite postal story is the day I saw a DC delivery person sorting mail in stacks on the sidewalk while talking on her Bluetooth. I had to pick my way through the stacks to get by and she didn't even look up.

I thought it was all post offices in the area until I moved to Allston.

Our Allston post office is excellent! Our mail carriers are funny and say hi when I see them, and when we've actually gone to the post office the longest we have waited was 15 minutes, and that's because there was a line of about 8 people and not because the counter was open but the counter person wasn't at it.
