I LOVED the wording in this! So many phrases caught my attention and added so much to what was already a beautiful story. With a perfect ending. Some of my favorites...

..."it’s another question, slurred and sticky in his mouth."

"Gerard’s eyes are all burnt black pupils and nothing else by now"...

..."body tense under the wiring of his nerves"

"Frank can feel the ragged edges of Gerard’s teeth writing new scars on his skin."

"Gerard’s voice is soft, clear. There is no sticky numbness in his words, and Frank wants to know how that voice tastes, what it is to have it slide inside his mouth, poured clean."

It's all so visceral, the feelings and thoughts and physical descriptions. Beautiful. <3

You are an incredibly gifted writer and a gift to this community. You write with a stream of consciousness that I envy. Each line is there for a reason and you can make a reader hang on each shift in phrase.
