*Sasuke stares in disbelief at the screen, eyes slightly widened, brows furrowed together. He'd been fiddling with the Dreamberry and hadn't expected to see this: a memory he's long since buried under everything else and forgotten about. Except he never really forgets things, can't--
He wants to be angry, and he is, but it's a deep burning sensation beneath his skin that's so very cold and as good as dormant.
There's something else too, a mix of a lot of things. He doesn't know what they are, isn't able to stick labels on them even if he wants to. He doesn't like it, but Kakashi keeps drawing to the surface.
*He sighs and looks away from the screen, fingers splayed lightly over the lower half of his face. Then he looks back at the screen for a moment, but then glances away once more. It's like he can't look at Sasuke right now.* I heard you the first time.
I would've left no matter what you said. *Because Kakashi wouldn't have been able to teach him what he needed, wouldn't have been able to give him what he wanted even if he tried. Of this he's sure.*
*He almost winces then and looks away, letting his face fall in shadow. Whether or not he believes Sasuke or is actually listening is a matter of interpretation.*
Sasuke. I'm going to hang up now.
*His voice is quiet and low. If Sasuke listens too closely to it, he might hear the unsteady waver in between the syllables.*
*He hears it, and there's this slight vindictive feeling of satisfaction that curls up his lips in a tiny, barely-there smirk. He hasn't forgotten what Kakashi had made him feel when he'd tied him up to the tree: disgustingly vulnerable and helpless and absolutely powerless. He hates that this... dream just reminded him all over again. Looks away from Kakashi, no longer smirking.*
You don't believe me. *He pauses and slants a look at Kakashi's face from the corners of his eyes.* If you think it's your fault, then I should thank you. *Says that dryly.*
*He closes his eyes and draws in a slow, shaky breath as the words spike through him, clawing apart the little bits of composure he'd manage to draw together after waking up from a dream like that.*
I'm hanging up now. *He repeats. And then he hangs up for the second time.*
*Glaring at the screen. He has no idea why he's even bothering to--
Well, he has no idea what it is he's doing, actually, but there's that damn surge of emotions again that won't leave him alone no matter how many times he tries to crush it.
The feeling had escalated when he'd heard his name and he hates that and he wants it gone, but he doesn't understand it. He needs to know what it is to get fucking rid of it.

He brutally strangles the emotions.*
...I'm satisfied. *His voice is flat and empty.*

I said I'm satisfied. *There's perhaps more stress on the final word than there should've been.*

And Kakashi has all the answers, it seems.
He presses the call button.*
