Unfortunately, some sadness
Well, he fought for a while, but Pepper (one of my parents' dogs) did have to be put down. It started with his pancreas failing, and he started coming back a bit, but then his kidneys failed and his lungs started filling with fluid. - If government was acting in the public -- and not the corporate -- interest, #Occupy wouldn't be necessary.
- If journalists were adversaries to the rich and powerful -- instead of their stenographers -- #Wikileaks wouldn't be necessary.

Airing of Grievances
It's Festivus today, and for those who aren't aware of it, Festivus dinner traditionally starts with the Airing of Grievances. Independence Day
It's the fourth of July, which means I get a three day weekend. I've really needed the extra time off, if for nothing else than to catch up on sleep. I've done plenty of other relaxing activities though. We had EarthDawn over Skype on Saturday, though since Microsoft bought Skype we've had nothing but problems. Overtime
The last three days at work have been utterly exhausting. The sports department had an archery class scheduled, and the instructor canceled on them at the last minute. And since I'm the only Eagle Scout around, I'm the only one that knows enough to cover it. So since Tuesday, I've had 11 hour days, filling in three hours for the class after my ( Read more... ) -
Working for the Weekend
I have spent almost the entire weekend working. I have a sword and sheath I've been working on for cosplay, and I've got a TON of sanding to do on it. I headed to my parents' place on Saturday, since that was the only place with a belt sander available. I had to buy the belts, and unfortunately it crapped out on me Saturday night. Oral Problems, Solved (mostly)
My wisdom tooth is out, and thankfully it's not causing me too many problems. I took some ibuprofen earlier just to take the edge off the soreness, but I'm not really in any pain. The area around it is a little tender, and I can't chew very much, so I'm stuck with very soft foods for a while, likely at least the rest of the weekend. It does kind ( Read more... ) -
After the Blizzard
Well, for anyone that isn't aware, a major blizzard hit the Midwest Tuesday night. I know it's not the worst weather of this type in the world, and we're pretty resilient when it comes to this stuff, but it's still kind of a clusterfuck.
