Hakkai, I will not allow any sort of decorating for this thing. We will not be turning the apartment into a freak show.

I've been informed that it is prudent to purchase a supply of sugary bribes for the various masked extortionists who will appear and demand appeasement, threatening property damage or other humiliation if they are not sufficiently bribed.

When I protested the illegality of this method of extracting goods and materials from those who wish merely to be left in peace, I was informed that this is a governmentally sponsored night of hooliganism and criminality. Needless to say, this disturbs me, but I cling to the thought that it is, mercifully, only one night. Unless there are MORE of these 'holidays' I haven't been informed of...

I am not going to give stupid brats candy to leave me alone, especially for masked idiots.
They can go bother someone else for this "Halloween". I refuse to take part in it.

I quite agree, sir. I'd originally held such intentions myself. However, having found myself cursed to speak like a raving imbecile for days because I'd spent a few minutes attending the prankster's party-lure in order to correct an insubordinate ex-employee -- I am now triply cautious of anything that could even hint at unfulfilled obligations or anything that could be wilfully misconstrued as such. I believe the phrase goes "once bitten, twice shy"... and I suspect it's better to be three or four times shy when dealing with pranksters who have been explicitly given free rein

You should learn not to trust people or give in so easily. Saying no to a kid isn't courage, it's just discipline. And believe me, it's not that hard to say no. I say no to a brat on a daily basis.

Just shoot or threaten anyone who tries to put something ridiculous on you.

Don't worry, Sanzo. I had no intention of decorating the appartment for Halloween-- I'm barely home enough to clean the place; having extra decorations to dust around would be impossible. I hope you wont object, though, to be handing out candy on the night.

Oh, and I have a day off from the hospital, so whenever you're free, we can go look for a new pot.
