thirty-third form; making plans {Video/Action for Goldenrod}

Nov 14, 2011 16:25

//video
{Hello, Johto! Today you have a rather philosophical Nanao popping up on your 'Gears.}

I have a question for you, fellow inhabitants of Johto. What does Christmas mean to you?

//action
{Since it's a lovely sunny Sunday, Nanao is out and about and indulging in what looks to be retail therapy at most of the stores in Goldenrod. Interact Y/N?}

busy busy, video fo sho, retail therapy, goldenrod, actual normality, walking the streets, christmas is coming, short post is short, action, buying all the things, why is it so cold, talk to me johto, she has a list

What is this 'Christmas?'

[ There are so many new words to learn in this place. Might as well get a straight answer the first time they are used before another 'tapping' incident comes up. ]

Christmas was once a religious observance, but in the modern era it has lost most of those connotations and has become a celebration where people exchange presents and spend time with their family and close friends.

{Nanao stayed well out of that incident with good reason.}

...I see. I have never heard of such a think, but seems pleasant enough.

It is quite pleasant, and I have been informed that usually we receive eggs from some unknown source, which is an added bonus.

Really? Well, congratulations, I suppose.

It's an old human holiday that apparently didn't die out in other people's worlds. I never really celebrated it even when it was around, but I guess I'm going to this year.

Indeed you are. I've cleaned the upstairs rooms, there's plenty of space now.

Well, hopefully we'll manage to get to Goldenrod without almost freezing to death this year. [That had been the opposite of fun. Snow is terrible.]

Anyone else coming?

If it gets bad, I can send Renji and Shuuhei to help you. {Fire types for the win!}

Hopefully England and China will be here, and you're bringing France... A friend from my world should be here as well, in addition to my current tenants. We'll be cozy, but we'll manage.

What are Tulio and Miguel doing - are they coming too?

Was it? I... wasn't really here for that.

Oh.

[Right, she's been here longer than Nanao, huh...]

It happened twice while I was here last year, and I think Christmas may have been one of the occasions.

Whoa, we're talking about Christmas already? [This is unusual to him.] But, uh... I dunno, spending time with friends? Or... whoever you're dating, I guess. If you are.

[Kind of shrugs, last year was the first time he really did anything, and that was just getting a cake and hanging with his bros.] I never really thought about it.

Why not? {It is november, after all. And shopping must commence - including her getting you that geetar, not!son.}

Not family? Well, I suppose here that would be a little hard, but...

Nah, we don't really celebrate it at home or anything. [He doesn't seem bothered by it or anything, though.] We've never really had a reason, you know? Junes is usually packed with the rush before we close for New Year's and everything, and Mom's usually... well, getting ready for that too.

I guess it's kinda different here though, since there's a lot of people from countries and worlds that celebrate it different. [He laughs a little.] It's a pretty big deal in the west, I know that.
