Sorry if I startled you. [He shakes his head in mild disbelief.] I can't believe how fast time flies. But then again one could have their time screwed up when being pulled from a different place all together.

[ shakes his head a little, too, to wave off the surprise from before. ]

I was a little disoriented when I first got here, too. It hardly feels like it's really been four months.

[ And there's a Pikachu peering into the screen, obviously interested in these wishes being granted. ]

Was today supposed to be important or something?

[ sup Pikachu. is your deepest desire ketchup, or is that only certain special cases? ]

Tanabata. It's a holiday that celebrates the meeting of two deities separated by the Milky Way that can only reach each other on July seventh.

[ This Pikachu clearly wants a flying ship!! And ketchup on the side, maybe. Said Pikachu is still staring, as if expecting something. ]

So that's it, huh... I'm not really that good with keeping up with whatever holidays back home if we even have Tanabata.

[ Seeing his Pikachu is interested, he'll ask in the little guy's place: ] How does it go?

[ holds up one of the wishing papers and a bamboo pole demonstratively, leaning forward so Pikachu (and his trainer) can get a good look. ]

You write your wish for the gods on a strip of rice paper, then tie it to a stick and set it adrift on a lantern at night. Some people just burn the paper around midnight, though.

Thank you.

[ She was a little worried when he looks away. ]

Is there something wrong?

No, it's nothing.

[ he's just wondering what a certain somebody would say if she were here to see what he wished for, too. the same thing? wondering if she'd call him out for being a copycat. ]

Did you make a wish for Tanabata, too?

[The curious voice of a child?] ...wishes?

It's a traditional way to celebrate the holiday. Boys and girls offer wishes to Orihime and Hikoboshi, setting them afloat on a starry river in hopes that they'll be granted at midnight.

That sounds like a story. [Pause; Ys remembers traditions like that from the past.] If you do that, do your wishes ever come true?
