If a particle is traveling through the woods and there's no one there to see it, does it really exist?

Why would reality be constrained by what we can perceive? I see no reason why something couldn't travel faster than the speed of light. Buckle up!

buffyeas and I went to her cousin's house on a lake today. They, of course, had a boat and a two-person tube and were taking people out on the water. It was a blast! I find the terms "twofold" and "threefold" (and all the other -folds) misleading.

Fold a piece of paper in half. How many sides do you have? 2. How many folds is that? 1.

Fold that same piece of paper in half again. How many sides do you have now? 4. How many folds is that? 2.

Again. How many sides? 8. How many folds? 3.

Christmas 2005

I started Christmas in Ohio. Just barely. It was no more than ten minutes after midnight when I crossed the border back into Michigan, home to 70mph freeways.
