CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!

I'm really happy to hear that it all went well and that momma and tiny baby are doing well. And yes, she is GORGEOUS. She also happens to be named the same as one of my favorite fantasy characters of all time.

She's winning all the way around!

My best to all of you!! Lots of love!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxo

Thanks, Penny! :-)

...that wouldn't happen to be "Arya Stark," would it?

Because that's who she's named after. Seriously! :D

If it was a boy, he'd have been named after someone a bit unconventional, too: Cliff Burton, the bass player (who cooperated by having two first names). ;->

The whole extended clan has been watching "Game of Thrones" on HBO, just because of Arya's namesake. My oldest sis, who doesn't enjoy fantasy type novels at all, is engrossed, but worried, since so much bad stuff keeps happening to the Starks. I told her there's more of that to come, but don't worry -- Arya herself thrives (at least thru Book 4 -- fingers crossed, LOL!). :-)

It's been a hell of a ride. Lots more fun than I'd have guessed. I got a taste of this "Grandma" thing...and now I'm hooked! :D

YES! Arya Stark!! I read your original post and said to Aaron, "That girl's got a badass name! She'll do just fine!". Though, being a Metallica fan also, I would have approved of Cliff Burton as well.

Loving "Game of Thrones" on HBO, especially because I happen to really like who they chose for Arya. That was a make or break for me, but I'd have to say that the casting overall has been superb.

I'm totally on edge for July when the next book comes out. I have pre-ordered on Amazon, and I can't wait!! Arya and Daenerys are my favorites by far and I'm loving the show because I think they did great with the characters, but I'm also looking forward to seeing what happens to them in the next book... both are on the cusp of badass-ness and I love it.

Keep posting pictures, Grandma! I'm glad to hear things are still going well for you all!! <3

I do approve of the casting for both Arya and Dany -- they were two favorites of mine as well, ever since the first book.

Another fave from the books was Jon Snow, but unfortunately, I'm not really feeling him on the series -- too emo, I think. That was a tad disappointing, but overall I'm very much liking the actors cast in the roles! Tyrion -- wonderful! Drogo -- hot! Lyssa -- crazy as a fucking loon! :D

It actually struck me recently that choosing a name before the book series ends may not have been a great idea -- Arya had best continue her lands-on-the-feet ass-kickery throughout, and not become some tragic, downtrodden figure later on, or...well, I'll be pissed at the author, LOL.

It also struck me that there are characters I really dig from all the factions -- even the Lannisters, see Tyrion. ;-> And, more in the later books, Jamie as well (to my own surprise). I think the further he gets from Cirsei's influence, the better a man he becomes. And, obviously, there's no way all of them can get what they want, so it's likely ( ... )

Hee hee ... life has a way of going on while we're busy with other things, doesn't it? :D

I'm about to become a babysitter, too - I've agreed (maybe rashly; hope not!) to watch the kid when Tam goes back to work on the 29th of this month. I'm looking forward to it, and hope ye olde bod cooperates with the willing spirit. ;-> The whole "day care at work" thing Scripps offered, that we all thought was so awesome? It's $400 per week. Per WEEK!! I dunno who the fuck can afford that -- I guess it's a service for the Executive Mommies at Scripps, cuz I honestly don't know who else can afford those rates ( ... )
