Giving handjobs seems to be a very British thing. I always hear about Brit girls talking about "pulling guys" and "wanking guys off", here I've never heard anyone refer to a hand job.

"pulling" them doesnt mean wanking. i will try and think of what it means in american english... erm "scoring" with them perhaps? but it doesnt necessarily mean sex either. a girl could just kiss a guy and get his number and then say to her mate "i pulled a fit lad tonight"
