(Because of the placement of
onepassingnight , the history shown within is a base only, due to the fact that Roxas and Sora are being taken from very early within the timeline. Certain events are liable to happen earlier, or later. Certain aspects of canon that are retained may not happen at all. This is, however, the timeline which
lockandkeyblade and myself have agreed on so far.)
In summary, Roxas’ history does not change until a key point in the KH2 timeline. His existence within Organization 13 (kh wiki 358/2 days) stays the same; he remains with them for a total of 356 days, attending his missions and befriending Axel and Xion before tragedy strikes and he sets off by himself, eventually fighting with Riku and losing. At this point he is inserted into a digital version of Twilight Town and given a false identity with which to throw off any who may look for him.
The time-frame of six days within the faux reality (kh wiki; kh2) also stands till the end of the sixth day, wherein Roxas finds himself standing in front of Sora’s pod, no available way to escape his fate of disappearing within Sora and making his other whole. Though a partial merging does take place, this allows for Roxas to feel the desperation, fear, and anger of the situation far more clearly, which allows their heart to put a stopper on Roxas’ fate. Through this connection, Roxas is once again re-established in the real world- in time for Sora to awake and meet him face to face (
http://community.livejournal.com/13meters/11286.html).
It’s quickly established that Roxas himself is also a keyblade wielder, and his prior knowledge to Sora, Donald and Goofy’s names leads them to believe that he purposefully came to wake them. Due to these two facts, Roxas is allowed to tag along with the group as they make their way around Twilight Town, but even so, Donald remains wary of the sudden extra to their party, and doesn’t fail in showing it.
Roxas is as confused about his continued existence as Sora and company are by their surroundings. A fight breaks out before the Usual Spot, with Roxas refusing to enter, until Hayner, Pence and Olette intervene. Roxas fades into the background for the duration of this conversation, afraid of facing the people he had thought were his friends. He’s discomforted by the fact that all three seem fascinated with him, Hayner stomping off before Olette and Pence inform Sora, Donald and Goofy that they saw someone looking for the three, fitting the description of the king.
On their way to the station the group also meets with Seifer, who also seems to have some vague recognition of Roxas- going as far to say that simply looking at his face seems to ‘tick him off’. Roxas replies dryly that he supposes ‘it’s destiny’ before leading the group to the station, where they’re attacked by Nobodies. The monsters don't seems to differentiate between who they're fighting with, attacking all four with the same mindless strength. With the exhaustion of Day 6 behind him, Roxas falls alongside Sora. They are then saved by Mickey, who, despite giving Roxas some meaningful looks, doesn’t appear to have the time to pull him away from the others and hear out the situation. With a promised "later" directed at Roxas, he disappears, but not before prompting them to take a train from the station, using the same purse stolen from Roxas on Day 2-something Roxas quickly indentifies.
At this point, Roxas doesn’t assume that he’ll be welcome by the party much longer, and attempts to leave, wanting to find out why he’s still here, avoid Organization 13, and maybe continue his journey to find Kingdom Hearts. He’s stopped not only by Sora, but by Donald and Goofy as well, who seem to have taken Mickey’s orders as all four of them departing together. Sora’s reasoning as to why he doesn’t want Roxas to leave remains unstated, though it appears to be different to that of his friends. All four then depart to the Mysterious Tower- but not without Hayner, Pence and Olette coming to say goodbye, all three of whom are alarmed when both Roxas and Sora begin to cry.
The four arrive at the tower, meeting Pete along the way and informing him that Maleficent is toast. In return, they find the tower they have been sent to is home to the great Yen Sid, a Keyblade Master who once trained Mickey himself. Meeting with him, Yen Sid explains the state of the worlds at this point- and the various enemies they may face, including Organization 13. As Sora receives his new clothing, he takes Roxas aside, listening to his explanation as to why he’s still here, and simply stating that there may be a reason for his continued existence as his own individual being.
Further discussion with Yen Side leads Donald and Goody to the decision that travelling home would be their best option. It’s suggested that with Roxas as an inclusion to the equation, the group should be able to part ways for a time, allowing Sora to continue with his search for Riku whilst Donald and Goofy check up on their home. Though the parting is reluctant and saddening, Sora and Roxas continue their journey alone.
In Hallow Bastion they come across Leon and the gang, who reveal to Sora that he, Donald and Goofy had been forgotten for a year. It’s at this point that Hallow Bastion is attacked by Nobodies, and Sora and Roxas fight by each other’s sides alone for the first time. Afterwards, Organization 13 makes its first appearance to Sora, and Roxas is chilled not only by their appearance, but by the fact that he is completely ignored. They leave Hallow Bastion with a clearer perspective of the enemies that will be pursued over the coming months, and a good base to come back to when needed.
A duration of over a month passes with the two travelling between three worlds; Land of Dragons, Enchanted Castle, and Olympic Coliseum. In this time, Roxas and Sora learn how to interact with each other inside battles, and during stages of peace. Several fights issue upon the way about different things, but through these, Roxas is able to see how they differ, as well as begin to understand the newly developed emotions that belong to him issued from their heart. The two quickly become close through this amount of time, to the point where both consider each other good friends. Roxas’ existence and past history begin to weigh on his mind, and he suggests the two take a break by returning to Twilight Town. (adventure times)
Their time at Twilight Town allows for two major instances to occur; Sora and Roxas visit the Usual Spot, and in turn, Roxas’ apartment, which was located above the meeting place. The actual building itself has long since gone to ruin, with Roxas commenting that DiZ ‘didn’t waste any time with kindness’ and revealing to Sora that he was held inside a virtual reality and given false memories of having lived there all his life. When Roxas admits he understands what was so important, Sora’s demands to know what are met with a simple ‘you’. He walks out before any other questions are asked, leaving Sora with the understanding that despite their time together, he really doesn’t know anything about Roxas at all.
Sora then surprises Roxas with a trip to the beach- the sight and atmosphere leading to a mock fight in the water before simply watching the sunset. It’s in this moment that Roxas finally reveals to Sora what he actually is- a Nobody, with a connection to Sora unlike any other. Further questioning on Sora’s part also leads to him admitting that he was once the Organization’s 13th member.
The mixture of their emotions and the confusion of the situation leads Sora to accuse Roxas of simply being a spy- in a daze of betrayal and hurt, Roxas hits him, and makes to leave. When he does so, the physical distance between them causes their connection to begin to fade; Roxas loses his ties to his own emotions, and both feel the strain of this connection being lost. In a matter of moments, Sora takes off after Roxas, intent on making him stay and rectifying his mistake. Apologies are made on both sides, with nothing left to hide. They leave Twilight Town with a far deeper understanding and connection to each other then before.
The two then travel to Disney Castle, where they are reunited once again with Donald and Goofy. Donald’s distrust and dislike of Roxas still remains, despite the obvious friendship that has built up between Sora and Roxas during their travels. Sora agrees that the best course of action is to refrain from letting others know of their connection, especially with his own reaction weighing heavily upon their minds. When the issue of the Corner Stone is discussed, the two are split up, Sora leaving with Donald and Goofy to collect Merlin whilst Roxas is left to protect the castle, and the queen.
Within several hours, the distance begins to create a loss in Roxas’ emotions until the connection is completely severed, and Minnie begins to notice both the adverse affects on Roxas’ personality, and the way he begins to avoid the castle’s occupants that he was previously so friendly with. Though her suspicions are never fully brought to light, Minnie and Roxas speak over a few sensitive topics, including his apparent dependence on Sora. Roxas admits to her that at this point, he wouldn’t know where to go without Sora at his side. He also speaks of a lingering resentment for DiZ, and a personal fear that, once Riku is found, Sora will abandon him. Minnie advises that the best thing to do with that is to speak to Sora himself. Roxas agrees, having no real intention of bringing it up.
The next day finds Sora and Roxas reuniting in the room of the Corner Stone, courtesy of Merlin’s magic. When Maleficent appears, confirming her return from the dead, she appears to find Roxas a very interesting insert to Sora’s party, something that worries Sora and Roxas both.
-Port Royal: Sora and Roxas once again give each other the ‘silent treatment’ over the issue of pirates.
-Agrabah: Genie recognises Roxas from his time spent in Agrahbah during his Organization days; Donald’s suspicions grow when Sora makes blatant distractions to avoid the topic.
-Halloween/Christmas Town: Roxas shares in Sora’s delight of the holiday… and Sora yells at Sandy Claws because Roxas isn’t on either of his lists.
-Atlantica: Roxas steals the spotlight with dat voice (oh c’mon you knew it was gonna happen)
-Space Paranoids: Roxas doesn’t get caught in the initial computerization with Sora, Donald and Goofy; Mickey tries to use this as an opportunity to speak to him about his continued existence- Roxas refuses, frantic about getting Sora out of the system.
-Pride Lands: The inhabitants of the Pride Lands can smell that Sora and Roxas are the same person- Donald and Goofy finally find out. AWKWARDNESS?
-Land of Dragons: Roxas’ fear of being abandoned grows further as Sora shows an obsession with catching up to Riku.
-Enchanted Castle: The group faces off against Xaldin, Roxas and Sora hesitant to fight him initially. Both are extremely shaken when he fades, Sora refusing to leave Roxas’ side for the rest of the night, and not in battle from that point on.
