I come downstairs this morning, fed the cat, turned on the computer, and went to make something to eat for breakfast, I come back to the computer and find the monitor on but not the desk-top. So I assume that I simply forgot to turn it on as I was going past so I hit the power button again, nothing happens. I try again and hear a spark. "MY

Do you know if it happened in the power supply? Is there any evidence of where the spark was? If so, you should be able to get by with another supply unit.

Dude, you called it. I got it back a few hours ago and it was the power supply.
