A couple of days? I guess you're using oils!

I use my cell phone camera to take pictures of stuff in progress; it's not as good as a scan, of course, but it's enough to give people a sneak peek.

Acrylics but I lay it on thick. Scanned OK this afternoon tho, I'll show you on twitpic.

If I used oils it would be about 5 weeks before I could scan. At least how I use paint.

I had a commission I did in oils that I couldn't sent for 5 MONTHS because the red stayed tacky.
