Meat is the key to uber Monk damage at end game.

Do you have any H2H merits at all? Faith Torque? PCC? Do whatever it takes to have H2H merits if you want to max MNK damage. It's fine if that's not your goal, but H2H merits are the single best way to increase performance for Monks (in my opinion).

My weapon skill merits are maxed now. I put 2 levels into H2H to move from 276 to 280. I have PCC and T. Sting as my only source of acc. gear. For WS, I put on the O. Hat.

I still use ninja, so I don't know if I want to give up the katana merits at this point. I guess it will really depend which torque I get first.

Have you tried going SH and O Hat? The +ATT of meat at that level is like 70+..... which could never be made up by equipment alone.

I might try that next time. Good all out acc and use meat for exp/merit. But it really just depend on who I'm meriting with I suppose. Since the average merit parties, I already pull too much hate, and I end up slowing down my dmg output due to all the Utsu casting.

I've yet to encounter any healer that is willing to party unless all melees have /nin..

Dude... wtf. you're comparing apples to oranges. Ok... if you don't like oranges... Fuji apples (meritted monk) to granny apples (you). Its ridiculous to look at the base damage you're doing to a merited monk. Thats just setting yourself up for failure. And consequently, what difference does it make if they're doing more damage? None... you're getting merits just like he is big whoop.

Don't get suckered into the whole epenis shit that everyone and their mother''s grandmother are talking about. Ya its nice to put up big numbers but in the end all you want is xp/merits.

Actually I think this comparison is worth noting because there's a lot of ppl out there that has to make this kind of decision of what skills to merit. It has nothing to do with E-penis contest, more so just a standard I have for myself. i.e. I don't like to be the gimp in the party.

Comparing Fuji Apple to granny apple seems to be a fair comparison to me.. I for one would like to know if I'm paying extra on buying the fuji apples, I at least understand how much better it is compared to the cheaper granny apple right?

Unlike items such as BB, or Shura, merit is something obtainable by every 75 job. So anyone has their choice on how/what they want to spend the merits on. Therefore, it is important for me to see the difference in dmg output between the two, because now I have a new personal prespective on merits.

1. Monk isen't my only job I merit on. But I am having the most fun using, so I seek on it while offering the other jobs I happen to have gears for in MH ( ... )

Random comment: Why don't you TP/WS as monk in 2x Sniper rings, or some other variant? If you are using strength rings you need to be shot, TP/WS in flames is NOT cool.

When I eat meat I wear SH, PCC, Sniper/Jaeger, O-Hat/Turban depending on Focus/Berserk up. And I have 2 h2h merits. Really, all you need to hit is around +45 accuracy to eat meat and keep your ACC around 80+%, that's the sweet spot. Drop on Hedgehog pie for another +5 if you can afford it. Upgrade SH > SH+1 if you can afford it.

I *think* brutal can help you keep the max 8 hits from Asuran fists, but it might just be placebo effect. The easiest way to test it out would be to parse WS average with/without it on without changing any other factors. Should be fairly easy to see a 50-100 dmg difference if it is in effect one would think.

Shura is not so important, Osode will end up doing about the same damage, but with the bonus of other more rounded stats for tanking etc. If you are just wondering about how the accuracy from shura would affect you, try a pal. body or borrow a harness.
Sushi and meat can both be great, depending on the xp area.
I am going to add a new post on my LJ by tomorrow where I show I do 40% of the total damage where 2 other wars in PT (with haidates osodes haubs, 90% acc etc) do 20-23%. That's with me using the cheap sushi and no haste, while they are always hasted and I am always basically tanking (that's in mamook).
In Ule.range using meat I only get to 43% compared to the 25% and 30% of war and nin, so not as much in comparison, because I used meat mitkabobs (NQ) and things like evasion torque and boots instead of p.charm and dune so my accuracy was only 77% vs their 90-93%.

Oh and brutal should be on all the times as monk, especially on WS. It will replace a missed hits often.
