If you want to learn more Tudor songs - then tell me and can certainly teach you some. If you can hold a tune thats the start of it!

I teach myself by getting a CD of someone (or group) singing and then the music. With a bit of recorder playing I can get the tune. Timing can be a teensy bit off but I am hugely better than I used to be!

I'd LOVE to find a group which would do Tudor/Early Music singing. Haven't discovered one close by yet!

You need to come over for costuming/singing/music/general_being_in_Glemsford sometime in the next couple of weekends. I'm now starting my Venetian dress. Just ordered the velvet ribbon trim!!! Need to order the silk lining now!

I'd love to come over for a weekend. I'm free for most of the rest of July. It'll be nice to see how a Venetian is put together, and playing with the silks and brocades is always good. I'd also like to be fitted for another toile - I think my body shape has changed.

You can over either this Sunday (not Sat as I am going to be very busy cleaning!!) or the following weekend.

Im hoping that this Sunday will be drafting stage - getting a basic pattern/toile drawn up and fitted over my effigy corset and then actually cutting out the bodice base (buckrum, drill and top fabric). The following weekend will be actually sewing it all together and hopefully I will have the lining then too. Also hoping to get the skirt cut out and sewn up that weekend too!
The next weekend on will then be devoted to hand finishing, stitching skirt to bodice, adding velvet ribbon (which I have ordered) and also then drafting the sleeves.

My aim is to make this Venetian dress by the end of July!

And if I manage to pull off that miracle I will be utterly amazed!!!

;-)

How about the following weekend. (I don't want to get in the way of your cleaning.)
The end of July sounds a little ambitious, but you never know. Sometimes things just come together. Good luck!

Love Valina.
