Happy New Year. And Happy New Decade!

It's my weekend!  I work Saturday and Sunday, and have Monday and Tuesday off instead.  So far it looks like this:

Monday - volunteering with the costume collection, food shop, then picnic at Layer Marney.

Tuesday - Cambridge with Victoria. Fingers crossed for the weather, this promises to be a very fun day.

I went to Hampton Court Palace on the bank holiday Monday and saw them making 'green sauce' - an appropriate name I think. I had a go at making it myself tonight.

There is a new vintage clothes shop in Colchester: it is at the end of Crouch Street, nearly Lexden. It is very nicely laid out, with prices clearly displayed. It is mostly 1950s dresses, but ranges from 1950 to 1980. The quality of the dresses is remarkable, some look like they have never been worn. Dilemma: There is a course in Southend which promises to be a beginners guide to displaying clothing in museums. It sounds very good, but strictly speaking it has nothing to do with my current job.
