The Christmas events have started. It all went sparkles and glitter today at Hollytrees Museum as an enormity of small children descended for the Christmas crafts day. I have decided I would like to get a tailor's dummy - ideally second hand. I asked in my two local fabric shops if they had a notice board or list, but they do not. Inventoried quite a mixture of items today. Notably some lovely Victorian items: a 1830s cream bodice decorated with pink silk under cotton lace attached in strips to the front of the bodice and an 1870s royal blue wedding dress. Is is time for new glasses again, so I spent the morning on this task and the afternoon in Tiptree looking around the museum and having lunch and cream tea. My Mum had a day off today too to help with difficult decisions (like whether to have strawberry or cherry jam with a scone).
