Both poems are written by Dean Corbet (b1582, d1635). Possibly around 1621 (the poem refers to an incident from that time)

They are all from an amazing book by Fredrick Fairholt called 'Satirical Songs and Poems on Costume: From the 13th Century to the 19th Century' London: The Percy Society (1849)

It is held in the special collections at Essex University. I had a quick look on Amazon and there seems to be a paperback reprint. It's well worth a look if your library can get it for you. There are some that would be very funny if they could be set to music.

However I have to get it back to the library tomorrow - so that will be the last one for a while. But thank you for your comment.
