Oh, I don't know. Sorry, I just assumed that everyone read "Stephen" as "Stephen Dedalus-pants." I think that line is from Ulysses. Maybe Anne knows. She was an English major, right?

I bought a copy of A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man at a Friends of the Library sale for 50 cents like 5 years ago and then finally read exactly 1 page of it while we were at Duke Gardens one time. Does that count?

I didn't know what Stephen either as I am part and particle of the unwashed masses. I read a very dead mother and thought, Faulkner?

Dead mothers are very Faulkner. I mean I've only read five Faulkner novels, but they all have dead mothers. Some of them have more than one dead mother.
