I tend to fancy characters, but not the actors. So: Spike but not James Marsters, Guy of Gisbourne but not Richard Whateverhe'scalled, Hank Moody but not David Duchovny (or Fox Mulder).
Tall and thin is always good, dark and brooding works well. A certain level of intelligence is a must, and a sarcastic sense of humour which suggests a secret idealist hiding beneath the cynic is a bonus.
In other words, as my other half never tires of pointing out, I have a dreadful weakness for 'damaged bad boys'. Dunno where he went right, then... ;)
I also quite like the slightly shy, geeky ones: your stereotypical TV techie, scientist or archeologist types. Again, tall and thin helps, but I'm generally a sucker for men who hide everything but their intelligence behind a mass of hair and/or glasses. Hmm...now, who might that reind me of?
