This post has two purposes. First! I know there are other vampires/vampire-hunters/what have in camp. I am not familiar with all those canons! So what I need from you is if you're capable of sensing vampires and generally how vampires work in your canon. Yes, this is partly for my own information, but also so we can figure out how Sanctuary- ( Read more... )

Is it can be essay tiems nao?

In Tony's world, vampires are made from humans by a vampire draining their blood to dangerously low levels, and then giving the drained human some of their own blood. The vampire-to-be never dies; vampires are not undead in Tony's universe. They cannot go out in sunlight without dying - the mere brush of the first rays of dawn over Henry's hand gives him blisters in one book. They fall asleep shortly after dawn - they literally cannot stay awake - and wake at sunset; while asleep, they do not dream, and their bodily functions slow sufficiently that they seem corpselike. Only human blood works to feed them, and a vampire needs more blood than one human, or even two, can safely provide on a regular basis ( ... )

...Okay, most of that sound a lot like it was borrowed from White Wolf's World of Darkness. And I can run with that!

Sadly, we don't really know a lot about Tesla's sort of vampire - he's the only one and he sort of... modified himself into being more vampiric than he originally was. The most notable thing, however, is that he himself doesn't actually drink human blood! He made a promise to the one person he actually listens to/sort of cares for to not drink human blood and he's as much as said that he intends to keep it.

Nor, whether or not he drinks other kinds of blood, I don't know, but I tend to assume that he can and does eat normally (especially since he is... technically only part-vampire).

Also, he seems to shrug off a stab-wound that looks pretty close to the heart, and falls off a skyscraper with only minor injuries, but since I doubt Tony'll be actually attacking him any time soon that seems to be less important.

Haha, any similarities are coincidence, I'd suspect, because Huff had Blood Price written in 1990; it wasn't published until 1991 because she was contracted for one book in '90 and one in '91, and she had a different one published in '90. And WoD was also published in 1991. XD

In the Dragon Age series, [quotes from a codex:] "Next are the demons of hunger. In a living host they become cannibals and vampires, and within the dead they feed upon the living. Theirs are the powers of draining, both of life force and of mana."

So. No details, because they've never actually made an appearance, but caused by demon possession, and they're the second-weakest type of demon. Fenris definitely can't sense Tesla's type of vampire, even if he might possibly be able to sense his own, at least on touch. (Canon seems to vary about how observant he is when it comes to abominations. He knows Flemeth isn't by looking at her, but says there's no way to tell whether or not Keran is possessed . . . :|a idk )
