I tried eHarmony a few years back, but their bias against non-heterosexuals and for "Christians" sort of turned me off to the whole thing.

In the alternative, I've tried out Chemistry.com, and I've found much the same thing you have. It's been interesting to see who is out there.

Nope, you're not alone -- and best of luck. :-)

Yeah, I refused to use EHarmony for the same reason.

I feel you, and yet a heterosexual Christian man would be fine with me. I guess I'm sort of vanilla that way. It's just that years of artists, intellectuals, and other fringe-y type people haev created nothing but instability and drama, with a touching dash of arrogance and narcissism.
OK Cupid was The Worst! And Match left me feeling like it was a bunch of dudes looking to get laid. I didn't get any matches from Chemistry.com (maybe that would change in Philly?) Plentyoffish should be renamed plentyofstalkers.

I think there is a middle ground between "fringe-y" people and the God Squad, tho, don't you? It may or may not be present in the online world in sufficient quantity or in the places you're looking.

I am surprised you didn't get any matches from Chemistry.com, because I seem to get new matches every few days. And I do skip over the people who are immediately discussing sex in their profiles, seem to be hyper-religious or otherwise too conservative, etc. I haven't met anyone nor have I actually subscribed to the site because of the way life is right now, but it has been nice to know I'll have a few options.
