I made some icons!

I'm only a beginner, so I want opinions - but be GENTLE with me! :O)

I started off with only 3 base pics, and have made 13 icons...

Again - be nice - I'm still learning! Yesterday Rob got me a Photoshop book (and I'm looking for PSP/AS too) so I can figure it out properly, but I've yet to read it! Heh!

Many behind the cut. )

Not too shabby!! If these are what you're able to produce as a beginner--I'm looking forward to seeing your creations after you've been at it for awhile. I'm partial to #3!

Wow - that was a quick response! :O) I think #3's my fave too... Rob likes #4 (surprising really seeing as her magnificent cleavage is somewhat missing in #4...)

Thing is - I don't necessarily think my ability is going to be a problem in future icons - more my imagination... which is kinda vacant these days... I guess I need to get out more! Lol!

Thanks! I had a feeling you might like them! :O)

I figured the community was a bit quiet lately, so started on one icon in the wee hours last night, and got a tad carried away...

I guess that's what 'being too skint to go out on a Saturday night' does for you! Heh!

Hey! =D What program did you use to do the animations in the animated ones? Something Adobe, I hope?

I'm afraid not... Is that a problem?! I used Jasc Animation Shop 3. It's really hard to get animations made in that to stay under 40kb though... :O(

Thanks! I used a combination of Photoshop and Paintshop Pro/Animation Shop. I find Paintshop Pro much easier than Photoshop, but then Photoshop lets you play about with layers a bit more, to get a more detailed effect. So I switch between the two.

Animation Shop is really easy to use for animations, so I've used that.

Great job!

I usually use Image Ready to animate my icons, but recently have picked up Ulead's Gif Animator. I'm looking forward to creating some groovy animated icons with it.

You were talking about size. I find that if I optimize by hand, I can usually get a nice pic under the 40k limit.

Thanks! I was nervous about showing them in case they were utter pants. Lol!

I'll have to check out those progs. I need lots more practice. *nods*

I tried all sorts with the optimization, and I either lost too much quality or it was too big... :O( I don't think Animation Shop let you fiddle with the settings enough...
