Very true, I agree.
My last trip a few weeks ago was very revealing. The most saddening part is the burgeoning population. There are so many of us. :(

I read two articles by people our age talking about the changes in the last 15 years ....... that was what inspired this post.
Life has been rolling ahead full steam .... and from your blog I see you have been terribly busy too! Will calloff over weekend.

talks about change without a value judgment about it...! Indeed, today's Bangalore will be the stuff of someone else's nostalgia in the future!

I thought all places, like people, are constantly in a flux and a change...

Even home...or at least the expectations from home change, dont they?

I agree .... all places and people are constantly changing - they change even without meaning to do so ..... it is a very natural process .... my post was in response to two peices I read recently that made a big deal about the change.

Home is a different issue ..... The concept of "home" is unique to each individual. So the individual is capable of holding onto the idea and not being open to change. This too may be futile .... but it comes easily to me at this point in life.

Then again, maybe the rate-of-change is just very very slow. I have been away from home for 4 years now and I dont feel a perceptible difference in my idea of or expectations from home. Given another 5 years, this too may change I suppose.
