The man with the child in his eyes

Monday I didn't hear from Philip, but I had a nice talk with the friend who told him about me. He said he had just mentioned my name and said he should get to know me and that's it. He also adviced me to play it cool and take things as they come. He didn't know what Philips intentions are and probably Philip doesn't know himself. I mean, we ( Read more... )

wow... compelling indeed... hopes are great... expectations are always met with dissappointments, and hopefully both of you keep from placing any on eachother. I don't know what it is like in Europe, but in California, the Bay Area particularly (where this body was made) gay men always struck me as extremely forward... blunt/to the point.... and very permisciuos. I have always enjoyed the company of gay men, but this is what kept me outta bars and such... It's like a resonent "lets not beat around the bush" vibe. I think that is what chicks hate about men, maybe their really expectful... the men just take it and have fun with it.

Did that make any sense what so ever? Sometimes I feel like I have become very rusty in my expressive-ness thru word, as I haven't been too expressful.. Anyways, my intended input was to tell you that I too will cross fingers, toes, and streets... if it will help ;)

very interesting point indeed. i have had great difficulty accepting my "role" as a "gay" man for this very reason. i have felt that without the female presence the courting process can be a very graceless and harsh process. i also feel that like other minority struggles we are in an adolescence of sorts. full of awkward gesture and posturing.

as societal convention grows and expands to meet it's demands the rigid formations of groups will dissipate and identity will return to a much softer expression without the need for the protection such groups provide.

just feeling thoughtful this morning.

It made lots of sense. I agree that many gay men are very "in-your-face". I don't like that too much either. I prefer hanging out with nice men. I am absolutely not forward, but when I played all my patience cards, I will ultimately get to the point.

Thanx for all the crossing. :-)

Yes... I have always gotten that from your writing, (not into the in yr.face approach)and catch examples of it from time to time, like when that guy was ofering you tickets to sumthin', but low and behold, they were conveniently back in his room... and you passed... I dig yr style.
