[Did anyone even live in these apartments? In all his time passing it, Onion Knight's yet to see someone enter it. And he does get a weird kind of feeling whenever he looks at it. Not being able to put his finger on what exactly that feeling is only makes him more determined to find out.]

[He reaches for the door handle to enter the apartment building. Because walking into other peoples' homes and taking their belongings isn't weird at all.]

[Hello there Onion Knight. Nice of you to join us. You get the pleasure of attracting a Gengar, one of the more particularly sinister ghost pokemon. To illustrate this, the door you just grappled abruptly shot open into you. Can you dodge it? When you look for the culprit, you see nothing.]

[ASDF;LKJ jumping back to avoid getting hit; you learn to have fast reflexes on the battlefield. But now that the door is open, he doesn't see anyone behind it to have opened the door. Weird. Maybe the door had been really well maintained, and had just swung open a little more easily than he'd been expecting when he pulled on the handle.]

[Satisfied with this perfectly logical explanation, Onion Knight enters, looking around at the gym on the bottom floor.]

[Things were seemingly peaceful when you wandered into the gym. It was quiet like you would expect an empty building to be, but it could only last so long. Several minutes in and suddenly a 50lb dumbbell was hurled your way!

...you're the only one in the gym. Who could have done that?]

[He's fine exploring the gym; there's all sorts of equipment he's never seen before. He's not fine with having things thrown with him. Narrowly avoiding the dumbbell (the nasty "THUNK" when it lands makes him really glad he didn't get hit by it), he draws his sword.]

Who's there? Show yourself!

[Whoever they were, they sure weren't friendly >8( ]

[That dumbbell wasn't the end of it. No. Not by a long shot. You demanded who was there. Instead you got more dumbbells hurled at you. Varying in weights. Anywhere from 5lbs to 100lbs.

Can you dodge them all?]

[WHY U DO DIS, GENGAR ; A; W-whoah! In between evading thrown dumbbells, Onion Knight can't see his assailants at all! A part of him says ghosts, but he quickly shakes that thought off; ghosts aren't real! Those "ghosts" in that cursed town didn't count!

But his thoughts are caught off by one of the lighter weights thumping into his chest, causing him to stumble. He manages to recover quickly enough to duck under the 100lb dumbbell sent his way.

He still wants to investigate this haunted apartment building further, but he can see staying here will just be too dangerous! Onion Knight quickly runs for the stairs to the next floor, dodging dumbbells as he does so. Surely he'll be safer here, right?]

[Because he's a jerk.

Things were calm here. You could see a broken chair at the end of the hall near the stairs as well as a broken light fixture some feet before that. Clearly things have already happened here.

Wat do?]

[Definitely calming down a little when the barrage of hurled things doesn't seem to follow him up the stairs. But still keeping his sword drawn. A precaution. But it does provide a comforting weight in his hand.]

[Wondering aloud] Did a fight break out? [A pause] Does anyone even live here?

[Clearly the answer is to find out! Despite spooky shenanigans. He's not going to shout, since it seems he's lost his unseen assailant; it won't do any good drawing attention to himself. So he tries turning the doorknob of the nearest room.]

[The door handle is unlock, but for some reason you find it difficult to open it. It wont budge and nothing seems to be wrong with it. Try as you might, it wasn't going to open.

Farther down the hall one of the doors slammed opened, but nothing came out into the hallway.]

[Rrrrrgh RRRRRRRGHHHHHH okay this isn't going to work. If he hadn't been an honourable knight, he'd just blow up the door and be done with it. But he is, so he doesn't. Maybe the door's just stuck from disuse?]

[BWUH WHAT WAS THAT?! Onion Knight jumps, startled at the sound of the door slamming before it immediately turns into embarrassment. Luckily no one is here to see that, right? But now one of the rooms has its doors wide open.]

[...]

[He goes to enter the room, adjusting the grip he has on his sword]

[Nothing happened on your way to the room and when you got there things were stale. An unusual drift of cold air brushed against your skin. Maybe you should start believe in ghosts, because you're being harassed by one now.

This strange phenomenon wasn't the end of it. The floor beneath you started o crack, and it traveled all the way to the door. The lights to the room flickered and eventually remained on for several minutes before shutting off. Before you could move to leave the room the door slammed shut behind you, and worse... It was stuck.]

[ DDD: SUDDENLY HE DIDN'T WANT TO BE HERE ANY MORE. The last thing he'd seen before the lights switched off was the floor cracking and Onion Knight does not want to fall through the floor, back to the gym where deadly objects were being thrown around. That might end up being deadly, and Onion Knight doesn't want to risk dying. There's nothing worse than having to fight an unbelievably strong guy than not being able to see or sense who you're fighting at all.]

[If Onion Knight had been in a state of mind where he could think more rationally, he'd try communicating with his unseen assailant. But he isn't, so.]

[Yeah screw this THAT DOOR IS GONNA BE BLOWN UP WITH A LOCALISED FLARE SPELL. Or the wall. It's hard to tell when you can't see in the dark. Holding his sword up high, Onion Knight summons three beams of energy that will converge and explode, if nothing's done about it.]

[Luckily for you a ghost couldn't stop that without physically harmed itself. Or at least this ghost. However, your trials with the haunted house were luckily coming to an end. Things were already serious and you could only imagine what would happen next- and if you would survive.

But you almost hit Morty you jerk! D8]

I wasn't aware you had a pokemon- [Oh this man did not.]

Did you generate that attack yourself?

[W-well he didn't know you were there >8( Onion Knight's sword's still drawn, though. But having some more light and actually being able to see someone's put him more at ease, though still cautious and suspicious of this stranger]

Were you the one who locked the door?

ecruteaksghost July 6 2011, 05:29:13 UTC
I wasn't. The culprit was my pokemon. Gengar in particular. It's in his nature.

[Gengar poked his head out from your shadow.]
