Wednesday. 7pm. A calm, normal day in Vatheon. Nothing betrays what is coming. And yet the signs were there, if only someone had been able to see them for what they were

AMANE & OPEN TO ALLtwiceinhabitedOctober 3 2011, 07:14:19 UTC
If the slamming didn't wake her up (it did), then the energy drain for the barrier did. Startled, Amane get out of her bed and almost fell down to the floor.
After she regain enough energy, she stood up and reach for her COMP. Once she's quickly readied herself, she left her room to see and help with the situation. The priestess can hear the kraken's bellow, and then the continued slamming.
And rushing at this gross squid appendage was a red head with a large flowery key. She couldn't let this place get destroyed or people hurt. Kairi was still a novice, but she could try to put in some damage or keep it focused on her so the locals could get out of harms way.
The large key briefly made her pause, before she quickly moved to support the girl. She can question about the weapon of choice later, when there was no tentacles attacking and waving.
Focusing, she cast a barrier spell--Shield All--on the girl. It would nullify an attack once.
And the spell was very much appreciated. Kairi dodged hopped back, just out of range of the limb to give a smile of thanks for the support. Then she was moving back into action again. The ornate keyblade swinging with full force. After this fight? She was definitely going to look for an instructor. "Do you see anyone?" She called back to the magic user.
And the sight she would see as she headed out would be Katsu, power from the King's Gate surrounding him. He's got some blood on him - up his arms, on his shirt - but he doesn't seem to care. Not with his eyes red like that, at least. He dashes for the tentacle near Amane, a Zio spell crackling down his arm.
She can sense the power of the King's Gate first before she would see Katsu, snatching her attention. But the immediate emergency of the situation - wild tentacle attacks, that is - got her focus back. Her hand gathers the familiar magical energy for a Holy Dance and aims it.
Katsu slams into the tentacle, watching lightning spiral down it, and jumps back, gathering power for an Elec Dance. He snarls, and once Amane lets off her spell, he'll let off his.
The combined strength of their spells strike it hard, causing the tentacle to flail in pain. She barely able to dodge it, but it's so close to hitting her.
Katsu zooms towards it again, and latches onto it, trying to crawl over to the underside of it as it whips around. It looked softer, and if he can dig in there maybe he can attack it more effectively.
After she regain enough energy, she stood up and reach for her COMP. Once she's quickly readied herself, she left her room to see and help with the situation. The priestess can hear the kraken's bellow, and then the continued slamming.
So she go, looking around and seeing a tentacle.

This is because there is a tentacle that slammed right into the spot he was a moment before.
The groceries in his hand should really show where he was when this fiasco happened.
As it is, he also has found himself a sword, but for now, he's not fighting. He's running.
But he skids to a stop when he sees the priestess.]

[She can't take physical hits as well as magical ones. She can still take them better than Keisuke]
